Healthy snacks and a free glass water bottle for everybody were all part of a series of internal events held at British Glass as part of national Nutrition and Hydration Week.

The week aimed to to get staff thinking healthy and began with healthy snacks being handed out to show how easy it is to be nutritious when eating in-between meals.

A healthy afternoon tea followed on Wednesday which saw staff encouraged to bake homemade healthy cakes to share with each other.

As well as this, each member of staff at British Glass and Glass Technology Services received a free glass water bottle to show the importance of keeping hydrated and, of course, promote glass.

Senior HR Manager Debbie Firth organised the week’s events and was delighted with the response from staff. She said:

“It was the first time that we had participated in Health and Nutrition Week as a company so to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the activities was very pleasing.

“Keeping hydrated and leading a healthy lifestyle is always important, especially in an office environment, so I hope everyone keeps up the good work.”

Nutrition and Hydration Week is an annual awareness week that began in 2012 and aims to educate people on the value of food and drink in maintaining health and wellbeing.
