Viscosity Of Na20.2(Tio2,Si02) Glasses

Low temperature viscosities of Na20.2(Ti02,Si02) glasses measured by penetration viscosimetry are presented for titania contents ranging from 0 to 40 mol%. The viscosity-temperature-composition relations are interpreted using Adam & Gibb's theory. The values of viscous flow activation energy and configuration entropy at Tg are discussed in connection with the structural information obtained in Mysen & Neuville's Raman spectroscopic study. The complex structural role of titania depending on both its content and glass temperature is confirmed by this study.
