The Variation Of Fluorine Losses During The Melting Of Glasses Rendered Opalscent With Fluorides

Test have shown that glasses with PbO become opaque with a lower percentage of fluoride in the glass than other glasses up to a minimum of 2.5% but the F retention is less. Glasses with ZnO opalise with a minimum content of 3.5% and the fluorine is retained better than in the glasses with PbO.
