Use Of Micro-Raman Spectroscopy For The Characterisation Of Defects In Industrial Glasses

This work describes the characterisation of the nature of refractory materials that give rise to the presence of defects in glass products. Besides conventional techniques, the use of micro-raman spectroscopy is reported, for the first time, as a powerful tool for the identification of defects. Results can be collected and organised in a database. A comparison with the application of other techniques is presented.
