Tracing Of Molten Glass Flow From Traces On Refractories.

On only slightly corroded walls of tank furnaces there can be somtimes be discovered traces of molten glass flow. These are caused by corrosion in the neighbourhood of gas bubbles carried along by the layer of molten glass. From the shapeof these traces the direction of flow, the line of zero speed, and other parameters can be derived. The article presents a mathematic derivation of regularities of the corrosion and also gives some practicle examples.
