Special Refractory Shapes To Improve Glass Gob Temperature Homogeneity

Glass temperature homogeneity is the most important property the glass must have at the feeder to produce articles with very good glass distribution and thus excellent quality. If all this is achieved, also the forming machine efficiency increases and consequently the pack-to-melt ratio raises which results in a higher turnover and therefore lower production costs. This article will describe two special refractory shapes developed by SIGMA to improve glass temperature homogeneity both in the forehearth and in the feeder area.
