San Miguel - Leading Conglomerate'S Glass Packaging Operations

Founded in 1890, La Fabrica de Cerveza de San Miguel was founded to become the first brewery, not only in the Philippines, but in the whole of the Far East. Since then, the company has grown to become the largest industrial conglomerate in the Philippines. The San Miguel Corporation recorded an annual turnover in 1996 of over US$3bn. Its glass packaging division has also grown and currently has a turnover of US$160m and a 70% domestic market share.
