The Role Of Nb2O5 On The Chemical Durability Of P2O5-Nb2O5-Pbo-K2O Glass System

We report the results of chemical durability for the P2O5-Nb2O5-PbO-K2O glass system at different pHs. The dissolution rate values are in the range of 0.8 - 97.3 x 10-8 g/cm2 min; 4.1 - 12.5 x 10-10 g/cm2 min. The presence of Nb2O5 as a network former increases the chemical resistance of this family of glasses.
