The Role Of Anions In The Glass Melt

Assuming that the technical glass melt may be viewed as a molten mixture of different salts, the structural and steric, as well as the equilibrium condition between the silicate melt and its basicity on the one hand, and the solubility of the anoions, on the other hand are considered. Subsequently the influence of the dissolved anions on the phases of the glass melting process on the properties of the glass melt including those of the phase separation and of glass as a material is presented.
