On The Question Of The Melting Foam Thickness In Glass Making Furnaces Of Different Design.

By considering the dependence of temperature on the depth of the melt and the variation of temperature along the furnace, an expression is derived to determine the depth at which the decent of bubbles due to the incoming streams of glass is halted due to the increase in temperature.
