Progress Made In On-Line Fibreglass Diameter Measurements

The distribution of fibre diameters within a fibreglass product plays an important role in determining the performance efficiency of many important commercial products. Nonetheless, current methods for measuring fibre diameter have been determined not completely satisfactory. This article assesses present technologies in the field, and reviews the authors' research for the development of more suitable methods such as those using the phase/doppler technique.
