Process For Reducing The Thickness Of Float Glass By Differentiated Cooling.

Molten glass from the surface current flowing from the hot spot of a furnace is channelled into a thin stream of uniform thicknes on a molten metla bath. As the layer reaches the molten metal bath its margins are cooled to a greater extent that its central region and it is drawn into a continuous horizontal sheet the thickness of the central zone being only 2-6mm and possessing 'fire polish' and good pannier.
