Preparation And Properties Of Oxynitride Glasses Made From Potassium Metaphosphate

Potassium phosphate oxynitride glasses were made by heating crystalline KPO3 at 702-775 degrees C in dry ammonia. Softening temperature, thermal expansion coefficient, refractive index, and dissolution rate in water were measured as a function of nitrogen content.
