Prediction Of Optical Properties Of Gradient Index Rod Lenses By The Huggins, Sun & Davis Model

The prediction of optical properties, such as gradient constants and chromatic aberrations, of gradient index glass rod lenses mass produced by ion exchange is studied. The Huggins, Sun & Davis (HSD) model was found to be effective at predicting the refractive indices and Abbe numbers from a comparison of the measured and calculated values of all the glass compositions except for those containing Cs20, Tl20 or B203.
