Numerical Simulation Of Bubble Behaviour In Glass Melting Tanks. Part 3. Bubble Trajectories

The objective of this paper was to demonstrate typical bubble behaviour in glass melting furnaces. To this end, previously published glass velocity and temperature fields obtained from the numberical simulation of a hypothetical furnace with and without air bubblers and electric boosting were used. Typical bubbles were traced within the molten glass while they were growing or shrinking in size depending on glass temperature, velocity and dissolved gas concentrations.
