Laser Glass Technology For Fusion Energy Research

Recent technological advances in phosphate laser glasses have been key to development of a new generation of high-energy and high-peak power solid-state laser systems designed for fusion energy research. One such laser system currently under construction at the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory is the National Ignition Facility (NIF).
