Influence Of Batch Moisture And Atmosphere On Melting Behaviour Of Lead Oxide-Containing Glasses

Melting behaviour in the sand-potash-lead oxide system was found to depend strongly on the amount of H2O added to the batch (between 0.1 and 9.0 wt%) and also on the melting atmosphere (air, N2, and air loaded with 30 vol% H2O).
