Improvements In Or Relating To The Pouring End Of A Tunnel For Producing Float Glass Ribbon.

The inlet end described avoids the build-up of stagnant glass below the pouring lip. The pouring canal is determined with a downward curving pouring lip spaced inwards from the inlet end wall of the float tank. A graphite body is provided whose outer surface is of the same configuration as the tank end wall and parts of the tank side walls. The inner surface of the body curves from the sides to a peak projecting from the centre of the end wall portion. The pouring lip is positioned between these side walls, spaced from the peak.
