Hydrolytic Stability Of Some Glasses With High Thermal Expansion Coefficient (Abstra

Starting from a composition close to the eutectic in the Na20.2Si02-Ba0.Si02 sub-system where Ba0 was partially replaced with Pb0, research work has been carried out on the improvement of the hydrolytic stability by adding Al203 or Zr02. These glasses were melted at 1400-1450 deg C. The glasses were characterized by density, coefficient of expansion, microhardness, hydrolytic stability, wetting power of the inconel alloy, thermal analyses and X-ray diffraction.
