Hot End Inspection And Process Control - The Key To Higher Glass Container Profits

Inspection of glass containers has traditionally taken place at the cold end, resulting in a larger percentage of lost containers with little or no feedback as to the nature of the problems. In recent years, cold-end data gathering devices and cold-end or hot-end communication devices have helped to isolate problems; however, most of these are extremely complicated, can be very expensive and may not necessarily add to the productivity of the plant. Today there is a tool that enables container manufacturers to implement total quality manufacturing principles. The ALS 600 Forming Process Control device is an innovative breakthrough, providing valuable real-time defect trend information to the IS machine operator.
