Glasses And Crystallised Glasses In The Ba0-B203-Ti02 System

Several compositions in the Ba0-B203-Ti02 system have been studied, the most important being BaTi409 with an added amount of (mol%) 5-50B203 and BaTi03 together with 25-50B203. The melting temperatures were between 1100-1450 deg C, depending on the amount of B203. For the compositions with less than 40% mol Ti02 and more than 20 mol% B203 the materials obtained were vitreous. If the amount of Ti02 was greater than 50 mol% they were crystalline even after ultrarapid quenching. The main physical properties were determined for both the vitreous and crystallized materials.
