Glass Characterization By Ir Spectrophotometry (In Italian)

This paper describes the applications of IR spectroscopy currently in use at the Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro: qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic and inorganic contaminants of glass products, determination of the emissivity of coated glazing for building and transport, concentration of water dissolved in the glass structure, evaluation of the surface dealkalisation of flat and container glass due to humid storage or weathering and evaluation of the sulfuration of type II containers.
