[Germany] Digitisation In Mechanical Engineering

This article outlines recent priorities in the German glass machinery and plant industry. With the fourth industrial revolution, IT and virtual technologies are increasingly integrated into real products and factories. In Germany, this development of networking and digitisation of companies, people and products is referred to as Industrie 4.0. The local mechanical engineering industry feels obliged to shape these developments in industrial production, given its position as the sector's innovation leader in many areas.
