The properties of glass are excellent, but for some specific applications, it can be used to modify its optical, thermal and other properties. In the present study, nanocomposite TiO2 films were used for functionalization of glass surfaces. The TiO2 films deposited on a glass substrate have been prepared by the sol-gel method. The films were made from sols containing different sizes of TiO2 nanoparticles and a dip-coating technique was used. The sols with different particle sizes were prepared by ageing. The prepared samples were characterized using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. The influence of the nanocomposite TiO2 films with different particle sizes on changes of the optical properties, surface morphology and topography of glass surfaces coated with the films was studied.
