The ceramics are formed from a glass containing,by wt% 3-30 SrO, 10-35 MgO, 5 - 26 Al2O3, 30 - 65 SiO2 and 3 - 15 F. The glass-ceramics contain at least two thirds by volume of fluormica solid solution crystals, which do not contain alkali metal or boron. Articles formed from the ceramics have excellent dielectric properties and machinability.
