Fluoride Opacification In Glasses - From Practice And Test Metals.

Alf and Al2O3 will produce no cloudiness in glasses containing no alkaline earth. ZnO and PbO and Al2O3 do not participate in the clouding effect of fluorides but support opalescence. X-ray work has shown that KF as well as NaF and CaF2 can produce opacification.
