Fatigue And Aging Behaviour Of Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display Glasses

Flat panel displays for both automotive and non-automotive applications are exposed to mechanical, thermal and vibrational loads during transient and steady-state operating conditions. Their long-term durability is dictated by the stress/time history experienced by Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) glass substrate which, in turn, depends on its fatigue, aging and fracture properties. This paper presnts aging and fatigue data for five different AMLCD glasses, which are necessary for evaluating their relative performance under prescribed loads, boundary conditions and operating environment.
