Effect Of Mode Of Formation On The Structure Of Borosilicate Glasses

Borate glasses containing SiO2 and TeO2 have been synthesized both by traditional melting technology and by the sol-gel method. The influence of the method of preparation on the short and medium range order as well as on the formation of microhetereogeneties is examined by transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction. The structural evolution is established both in the gels and in the glasses after thermal treatment.
