Removing bubbles from molten glass is undoubtedly one of the prime concerns in glass melting technology. In this study, two Japanese scientists put previously developed simulation methods into practice in order to evaluate the bubble removing performance of a tank furnace. Their findings and a comparison of various indirect indices which have been advocated to evaluate the bubble removing performance and the proposed direct simulation method are presented here.
