Contribution To Simplified Modeling Of Glass Furnaces (In French)

Numerical modelling is a useful tool to optimise glass furnaces, and the precision of current models include all known physical phemonmena. However, their computational load is very high, and in some applications, simplified models with very short simulation times are required. Model Predictive Control is among these applications, an the current trend is to use identified black-box models. However, first-principles modelling offers better perspectives thanks to performing reduction methods and wider validity spectrum. In this article, we show the development of a first-principles rapid model of the combustion chamber, first step to a global rapid model of the glass furnace.
