The critical radial stress generated on the flat surface of a brittle material during low-velocity thermoelastic impact can be calculated using a computational method instead of analytical methods. The computer program presented here can be utilized to calculate, as a function of time and position, the critical radial stress generated in the vicinity of a thermoelastic impact site. It was observed that this program can also be utilized to predict the surface damage pattern that would be generated on surfaces of brittle materials that are thermoelastically impacted.
