Coating Methods For The Strength Increase Of Containers: New Results On Nano-Particle Alumina Coatings

For many years there has been scientific and industrial research into how to increase the mechanical resistance of glass packaging. One of the very important factors, which influences the increase of the mechanical resistance of glass packaging, was the development of the formation method in which we may include methods such as Blow & Blow, Press & Blow and Narrow Neck Press & Blow. Further factors influencing the correction of resistance parameters of packaging were the application of heat treatment, glass digestion, internal gasification and also different hot-end and cold-end coatings. Various ways are attempted of the internal and external coating of bottles and results are shown for the mechanical resistance of glass containers using anew method of hot-end coating by nanoparticles of alumina compounds. The progress in the research results of internal pressure, vertical load resistance and impact resistance of glass packaging is shown. The results may act as guidelines for future container weight and the decrease of wall thickness.
