Batch And Cullet Preparation For Float Glass

This article describes a recent commissioned project by Zippe, a plant for batch and cullet preparation for the float glass production line at Euroglas, in Osterweddingen, Germany. The turnkey batch plant was designed with up-to-date technologies and reliable and efficient mechanical components. It supplies a float glass melting furnace (with a melting capacity of 700/tpd) and contains equipment for batch and cullet transport to the furnace silo. Under normal circumstances, the cullet ratio for glass melting is 25%. The batch plant, however, is designed so that the furnace can also be charged with a lower portion of cullet or with batch alone. A fully automatic control system is responsible for central command and surveying.
