Atomic-Absorption Analysis Of Borosilicate Glass.

The finely ground sample (1.0 to 1.5g), moistened wit H2O, is dissolved in an open dish by adding sufficient 49% HF (in portions) to produce a soln. 2.8M in HF after dilution to 100ml. The following elements are determined in this soln. by a.a.s. at the wavelengths (nm) indicated - B )249.7), Si (251.6) and Al (309.3) with an acetylene - N2O flame; and Na (589.0) and K (766.5) with an acetylene - air flame.
