Applying Solid-Shell Elements To Laminated Glass Structures

Solid-shell finite elements are proposed in this article for the efficient and accurate modelling of laminated glass structures. The elements are applied to two test examples and performance is compared to 3D elasticity theory. One example involves a real world structure, where special attention is directed to the prediction of stress distribution around point fixings.
