An Application Of Mathematical Modelling To A Glass Furnace Reconstruction

In order to improve the melting quality of high lead glass, it is proposed to add a set of air bubblers in the glass furnace, which has been equipped with flame burner and electrical boosting. It was expected that the bubbling could enhance the convection of glass melt and therefore improve the refining processs. The aim of this paper is to study the flow pattern and the temperture distribution of the glass melt under combined action of flame heating, electrical boosting and bubbling, and then determine the best position of air bubbler nozzles for furnace reconstruction. The glass furnace studied in this paper possesses melting part and working part, and a throat connects them.
