Application Of Bubbling In A Crt Panel Furnace

Thomson has successfully applied forced bubbling as an operating technique to optimize the quality produced from furnaces melting glass for the production of CRT faceplates. Through a combination of mathematical and physical modeling of the bubbling and melting processes, the production results were predicted and then verified in operation. In addition to the expected improvements in defect levels, benefits also include improved process robustness.
