An Anomalous Behaviour Of Ultrasonic Velocity And Attenuation In (Pb0)X.(Te02)1-X Glasses

This paper presents the temperature variation between 80-300K of ultrasonic velocity and attenuation in Pb tellurite glasses of different compositions. It is interesting to note that the variation of both velocity and attenuation with temperature deviate from the usual behaviour observed in many oxide glasses. It has been inferred that the anomaly is brought about by the structural changes in the coordination polyhedron of the tellurite glasses induced by temperatures.
