Analysis And Comparison Of Melt Yield In Glass Tank Furnaces - Part 1

During the last 30-40 years, there has been much study of "melt yield" in a glass tank furnace. Such studies are still continuing for the enhancement of productivity and also the quality of glass melt in order to achieve the desired quality of the final products. This has been possible by new designs as well as constant improvement on the existing designs of the tank furnace. An analysis and eventual comparison of different parameters involving the glass melt yield, in terms of many dimensional furnace design parameters reveal interesting information. Some of which is presented in this article for small to medium-sized tank furnaces.
