Environment & Energy Committee

The British Glass Environment and Energy Committee works to make the UK glass industry sustainable and competitive for the future.

The committee, which meets three times a year, is made up of representatives from across the British Glass membership, supported by British Glass subject experts. It proactively addresses policy, regulatory and legislative matters as well as technical innovation.

We address key energy and climate policies that may impact on the UK glass manufactures and work with government to mitigate any risks. Our key goal is to ensure we remain internationally competitive whilst decarbonising. One of the recent outputs of the E&E committee was the glass sector net zero strategy which sets out the key technology options and the barriers to get the UK industry to net zero by 2050.
