Zircon Useage In The Chinese Ceramics Industry

The ceramic industry in China has been established for thousands of years and is well known throughout the world. However, zircon has only been used by the Chinese ceramicists in the past 300 years and this is a very little known fact. Traditionally, zircon was incorporated into ceramic ware as stains, predominantly blues, pinks and yellows. Since 1987, China has used zircon in the more familiar form as a rround product incorporated into raw and fritted glazes.
