Yioula: 12M Euros Investment Into Bulgarian Factory

Drujba Glassworks, the Bulgarian unit of Greek glass containers & tableware maker Yioula, said on 10 May 2007 that it plans to spend EUR 12M to increase its capacity by 100M units a year. "By the end of 2007 a new furnace & glass-forming line will be launched at the Plovdiv site of Drujba Glassworks", the company said in a statement. The new facility will produce 100M bottles/pa. "This investment will be followed by a bigger project, through which another workshop of 250M glass containers/pa is to be commissioned in the middle of 2008", the company added. No financial details were available. The total annual capacity of Drujba Glassworks will grow to 1.2BN/units after completion of the workshop. "The need for new facilities came as result of high domestic & foreign demand", Drujba Glassworks spokeswoman Diana Todorova said.
