Xps, Epma And Xrd Analysis Of Hot End Coated Glass Containers

Although tin oxide based hot end coatings produced by thermal decomposition of SnCl4 used industrially since the 60s in order to protect the surface of glass containers from damage due to sliding impacts, many aspects of their composition and structure are still widely unknown. This work investigates the composition and structure of coatings on glass containers immediately after forming using XPS, EPMA, and XRF.
