X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis In The Glass Industry

The application of x-ray fluorescence analysis to flat glasses, figured and moulded glasses, glass fibre and raw materials is discussed. Problems of instrumentation are described and the advantages of a fully automatic instrument are outlined. Using such an instrument, the time taken for the analysis of a glass for Si, Ca, Al, Fe, Mg, K and S has been reduced to twenty minutes.
