WRAP have announced a new Capital Support competition to stimulate the production of recycled fine glass such as grits, sands & powders. The competition offers grant aid towards capital costs involved in creating new recycled fine glass production capacity, including the purchase of land, buildings, equipment & machinery. Market demand for recycled glass products is continuing to grow, & the competition is expected to contribute towards WRAP's target to stimulate the recycling of an additional 150,000/tpa of glass into alternative markets. Funding will be made available by means of a competitive procedure, & the level of support will be a proportion of the total project value, not exceeding 30% of the eligible costs. The new capacity will be expected to be operational by Dec/06. Proposals will need to demonstrate both a sustainable source of material & end markets.
