Window On... Turkey

The Turkish glass industry remains dominated by Sisecam and its associated subsidiaries, accounting for around 90% of the sector. However, there is also an increasing trend of development being exhibited by the country in the surrounding former Soviet republic within Central Asia, where Turkey has a long tradition of cultural exchange. It is now using this to good effect by implementing a number of Greenfield projects throughout the region, geared at bringing - in particular the container glass sector - up to a more modern standard to meet what many see as soaring demand.
