As with many of the central Asian republics, it is the container glass sector that appears to be attracting the most attention. Although primarily a wine and brandy producer, beer consumption has also been on the increase since 1995 and this now constitutes a major proportion of the country's beverage industry. Upgrading schemes at bottling lines in the last few years have also increased capacity with the result that container glass consumption has grown significantly since 2002.
