Why Quality Is The Key For Glass End-Use Markets

Research conducted by the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has tracked the recent changes in the glass recycling sector. Peter Mitchell, market knowledge programme manager, explains the challenges and opportunities on offer for recyclers and reprocessors and explains why quality issues are holding back progress. The findings from the Glass Market Situation Report have been encouraging. The results update WRAP's inaugural study into the challenges facing glass recyclers and manufacturers - following on from the previous study first published in January 2007. The report is published as part of WRAP's series of quarterly reports that provide material specific analysis of trends and developments in the UK's recycling and reprocessing industry, and aims to provide fresh insight into the current issues in the recycling sector.
