Wedgwood Buys Into Royal Doulton

Waterford Wedgwood has bought 14.9% of Royal Doulton shares in what it calls a "strategic investment" in its troubled rival. The £11m purchase, said Waterford Wedgwood, was not hostile and it had no plans to buy out the entire company. "We hope it will be good for both companies," said a spokesman. The companies are still discussing what form their future relationship would take.
