Waterford Cuts

Waterford Wedgwood is to close its crystal glass factory at Dungarvan in Ireland and will spend 30M Euros to remove excess capacity at Waterford Crystal and at its Rosenthal porcelain and crystal operation in Germany. Another 24M Euros will be spent to cut overheads and upgrade other manufacturing at the two operations. A total of 1800 jobs will be cut across the Waterford Wedgwood group. (whole item)
